Credit Monitoring Services

Credit Monitoring Services

Credit Monitoring is a tool that reviews a consumer’s credit file for changes that occur and notifies the consumer of those changes -- important in the prevention of identity theft. Identity thieves target their victims for many different purposes: to borrow money fraudulently, to avoid having their real identity associated with crimes identity theft criminals commit, to commit bank fraud, to open new telephone and utility accounts, to acquire government benefits, to take over existing accounts, etc. CoreLogic Consumer Services works with each of the three credit reporting agencies to monitor consumers’ credit files and notify them when changes occur.

Credit files are monitored for:

  • Address changes
  • Newly opened accounts
  • Changes to current accounts
  • Derogatory information (foreclosure, bankruptcy)
  • File inquiries
  • Public records

With Credit Monitoring, the consumer’s credit file is monitored on an ongoing basis. If there are changes to the credit file, consumers will receive an "activity" notification. Notifications can be made daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly. If no activity occurs, the consumer will be notified of that as well. At CoreLogic Consumer Services, we offer several different types of monitoring.
