In order to deliver a credit report or score on a website, we must verify a consumer’s identity. When the consumer requests their report online, they will be presented with questions based on the content of their credit file. If the consumer fails to correctly answer the questions, they will be referred to a customer service representative for Manual (verbal) Authentication. The customer service representative will then follow procedures to authenticate and release the credit report for the consumer to view online.
At CoreLogic Consumer Services, we use Experian’s authentication model for online authentication, which is accepted by all three credit reporting agencies. The authentication tool instantly verifies the consumer’s identity while conducting secure transactions online and at call centers.
